Faith, Family & Freedom: Nuptials at Historic DC Venue

L & J

As the warm breezes of May swept through the nation’s capital, the wedding of L & J unfolded in Washington D.C. amidst the city’s iconic landscape, their venues offered an atmosphere that blended elegance, historical richness and a hint of patriotism.

L & J crossed paths for years through working in our nation’s capital. Over time their love story progressed, culminating in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony. Their love for their family, their faith and their country was front and center throughout the weekend. They reached out to us nine months before their wedding and we were delighted to coordinate their day.

The bride and groom’s choice of ceremony and reception space held special places in their hearts and throughout their relationship. The day began with the couple getting ready in private suites, sharing stories from the past and well wishes for the future with those closest to them.

After reading notes and exchanging gifts from each other, they joined at a historic Catholic Church on the outskirts of Washington DC to perform their nuptials. After the ceremony, they took portraits at The National Museum of Asian Art, a place holding special meaning to the couple.

While the couple took bridal portraits, guests attended a cocktail hour with heavy hors d’oeuvres and passed wine. A seating chart welcomed everyone into the reception, where they were greeted by beautiful summer florals and moody candlelight. Their evening was filled with heartfelt moments, from their grand entrance to the carefully chosen accents.

There were moving speeches given by many and meaningful dances that continued to display their love for their families. The newlyweds were sent off with American flags after dancing the night away with their family and friends.

L & J’s wedding was the perfect example of a couple honoring love, family and America in a way that will forever be etched in their guest’s memories. We are grateful to have played a special part in their day that was truly a wedding to remember. Here’s to many more years of love and laughter together!
