E & E

The holiday season is a time of magic, joy, and love, making it the perfect backdrop for a wedding celebration. Imagine exchanging vows surrounded by twinkling lights, festive decorations, and the warmth of family and friends. E & E did just that as they entered into Holy Matrimony in Washington D.C. this November.

E & E met through mutual friends and their relationship progressed quickly. The couple’s kind spirit and love for one another and everyone around them was evident in every interaction. We were delighted when the newly engaged couple contacted us to help them design and plan their dream day.

The weekend was full of thoughtful touches and moments for the bride and groom’s families and wedding guests to partake in. The wedding festivities began with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony the day prior to the wedding. This is a beautiful occasion which symbolizes respect, gratitude, and the joining of two families. Following the tea ceremony, a welcome Mass was held at the Catholic Information Center followed by Adoration at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Nestled in the heart of the nation’s capital, The Hay Adams Hotel exudes elegance and sophistication; the perfect getting ready location to prepare for the momentous day ahead. It was a gorgeous November day in the city with golden hues still lingering and the sparkle of Christmas decor starting to appear. The Nuptial Mass took place at the stunning and historic Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Guests returned to the Hay Adams following the ceremony to celebrate with friends and family as they congratulated the newlyweds.

A festive cocktail hour ensued with delicious hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. The specialty cocktail was a custom crafted cocktail by a friend of the bride and groom coined “The Lion’s Fig.” The cocktail featured rye whiskey as well as ingredients that were meaningful to the marriage of E & E. Following hors d’oeuvres in the Hay Adams room on the main floor, guests made their way to the Top of Hay for dinner and dancing with views of the city including the White House decorated for Christmas.

The new couple, family, and friends enjoyed a festive evening of celebration. The Hay Adams provided a delicious multiple course meal, including a lobster bisque, sea bass, and flilet mignon. The decadent dessert included baklava as a nod to the bride’s Lebanese heritage along with a traditional slice of wedding cake paired with fresh strawberries. Guests were offered a specially wrapped treat from Tatte Bakery to take home to enjoy the next morning.

From the traditional ceremony to the joyful reception, this wedding was nothing short of timeless and effortlessly romantic. Cheers to many more years of celebrating your love, E & E!
