Laura & Joshua
September is a beautiful time for couples to plan their nuptials. The soft rays of sun and fresh fall air was the perfect setting for Laura and Joshua’s wedding day. Early this year, Laura and Joshua reached out to us about their desire to exchange vows amongst an intimate group of family and friends. We were delighted to be a part of their special day.
The day began in the St. Regis Bridal Suite as the bridal party got pampered by having their hair and makeup done. They shared special candid moments together before dressing for the joyous occasion. Ceremony set-up came to a pause as Joshua and Laura shared an intimate “first look” on the Astor Terrace. The light shone perfectly on the bride and her stunning gown making for a beautifully intimate moment.
Their wedding ceremony was a unique “in the round” ceremony. It began with live
music from a string quartet and an illustrator, adding a memorable touch as guests arrived. Joy and delight beamed on each guest as they witnessed the love and commitment
between Laura and Joshua.
Immediately following the ceremony, the St. Regis seamlessly (& quickly!) flipped the terrace for an enchanting cocktail hour while simultaneously passing wine and hors d’oeuvres for guests to enjoy. His and Her’s cocktails were available as well; Josh selected an Old Fashioned, and Laura chose a Spicy Mezcal Margarita.
The personalized touches of the wedding continued late into the evening. After dinner,
traditional Mexican sweet bread and coffee was served tableside. As guests enjoyed
this special treat, the matron of honor and best man gave their speeches. They gave strong and
sentimental testaments to the beautiful characters and love of Joshua and Laura.
As the night unfolded, Laure and Joshua’s wedding cake was on display. It was in front of one of the iconic ballroom windows, placed on a traditional French desk. Three tiers were adorned with florals and two figurines resembling their beloved cats.
After dancing the night away, guests brought home a one-of-a-kind favor, a live
illustration of them in their wedding best. Congratulations Laura and Joshua! We wish you all the
best as you embark on this new chapter of marriage!
