Amelia and Austin
This midsummer Washington D.C. wedding was nothing short of magical. From the whimsical, colorful bouquets to the stunning venue space, Amelia and Austin’s wedding day was the perfect celebration.
It’s always a blessing to get to know our couples throughout the planning process and this couple was no exception. Amelia said yes to forever in 2022 when Austin got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. In the midst of working full time and preparing for grad school as well as a cross country move, they knew they needed help with piecing together all of the little details leading up to their wedding.
Not only did they have a lot to balance, but they valued the sacrament of marriage and wanted to spend time in preparation for this next chapter of their lives during the final months of engagement. This is exactly why we offer our help, so couples can soak in time preparing for marriage, not just the wedding day.
The nuptial mass took place at Holy Comforter St. Cyprian, their neighborhood church. The ladies prepared for the day in Amelia’s home and Austin and his groomsmen at his. A special ceremony was held with all of their close friends and family to witness. Once declared husband and wife, the new couple walked out of the church doors to a sea of bubbles as their guests rejoiced in their new marriage! It was a magical exit indeed.
The wedding party made their way to the reception venue, St. Francis Hall, to take pictures in the adjacent monastery gardens. The gardens were the perfect setting surrounded by gorgeous rose bushes, lush grass, and beautiful architecture. A cocktail hour followed around the hall with hors d’oeuvres and a delicious charcuterie spread. Fun summer cocktails were had, like the bride’s favorite, an elderflower gin & tonic. Guests mingled and recorded voice messages for the new couple on a vintage phone. Amelia and Austin will always treasure this unique type of guestbook!
The night continued in the magical string-lit atmosphere of St. Francis Hall. Surrounded by candles and tables filled with summer blooms, this venue was the perfect setting to continue the summer celebration. A delicious meal was enjoyed followed by special toasts from family and friends. However, the party really started once the band hit the stage. The dance floor had energy all night long, which was fueled by a delicious array of decadent cupcakes.
From start to finish, this magical midsummer wedding was the perfect celebration for the start of this couple’s forever together. Amelia and Austin, may the rest of your marriage be just as magical as your wedding day!
